Secondary glazing (sometimes referred to as ‘secondary double glazing’) involves adding a second window inside your property next to the existing window. Each window is made to measure from slim and strong aluminium to match the appearance of you existing window, with the original ‘outside’ windows remaining untouched.
From our Oxford premises we supply and install secondary glazing across Oxfordshire
You can choose from many styles of secondary glazing to match your existing windows, with all of our secondary units available in a variety of colours to coordinate with your decor.
The pre-painted, pre-drilled surround eliminates the need for timber batons and liners and with no painting required speeds up installation and dramatically reduces installation costs.
Our scondary glazing is specifically designed to reduce noise, draughts and heating bills
Noise and draughts are not the only nuisances suffered – particularly in the summer. When doors and windows are opened we are subjected to an aerial attack by insects. These are not only a nuisance, some insects can also be a significant health risk which is why we can use a flyscreen to compliment your secondary glazing.
By simply substituting a glazed panel with a flyscreen panel, your system provides the potential to keep your premises draught free in the winter months and insect free during the summer.
Which Secondary Glazing option is best for me?
If you have sliding sash windows, our vertical sliding secondary glazing can be made to replicate the windows – with the horizontal bar placement to match the existing window to blend in perfectly.
Next, decide on how you would like the secondary glazing to be fixed. There are 2 options:
- Mounting to the existing window
- Mounting a small distance from the existing window
Secondary glazing should ideally be mounted away from the existing window, which will make room for existing window handles and create an air gap which helps both acoustic and thermal properties.
